Managing director Bo Howell has over 10 years of experience as a corporate and securities lawyer and chief compliance officer. He has served in roles with SEC-registered investment advisers, registered and unregistered investment companies, and broker-dealers. Bo worked at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Investment Management, as lead in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 asset manager, and as a director at a leading fund administrator. Bo has also successfully launched technology startups. Bo graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law, magna cum laude, and has a Masters in Finance from the Kelley School of Business (Indiana University); he is also a graduate of Washington State University, magna cum laude, with a degree in Political Science. Bo holds certifications in Cryptocurrency and Blockchain, Designing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Products, and other areas. Bo is licensed in the District of Columbia, Ohio, and Nevada.
Corporate Securities Lawyer
Emily Parker is a Corporate and Securities Associate Attorney based in Washington, DC. She graduated from American University Washington College of Law with a focus on Intellectual Property and Copyright Law. She is also a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received dual degrees in Global Studies and Romance Languages. Prior to joining FinTech Law, Ms. Parker worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Madison Adler earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis, and graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law in the top 10% of her class. Prior to joining her previous firm, Ms. Adler worked in litigation in tech companies such as Google and worked on class actions and complex commercial litigation, including Uber Technologies, Inc.'s suit against subcontractors’ employment allegation, as well as a qui tam case presenting the State of California again British Petroleum in a price-fixing case at CPM. Ms. Adler’s prior experience includes working on privacy regulation and IP litigation at Twitter in Dach-Countries as well as in the United States. Ms. Adler has extensive experience litigating cases involving large exposures in the areas of general liability and business litigation. She is also well versed in arguing motions in both state and federal courts and has successfully handled dismissal motions in the past. She worked on the implementation of CCPA as well as GDPR for many clients while ensuring the company is in compliance with data privacy regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Ms. Adler drafted data privacy policies and procedures for AAA (Mountain West Group) as well as Google PlayStore.
Director of Operations | Paralegal
As Director of Operations, Christy has been an essential member of the FinTech Law team since 2021. Her background in public relations, hospitality, and event management complements her accounting, legal, operational, and human resources expertise. Christy helps keep the machine running smoothly every day to do and has a knack for making every FinTech Law member feel welcome.
Director Of Marketing
Karen brings to the FinTech Law family over 20 years of experience as a content developer. Before joining FinTech Law, she operated a small editorial services business, where she developed over 100 print and digital products across a range of higher education disciplines. Karen brings a unique blend of content and design expertise to the FinTech Law marketing team.
Digital Marketing Manager | Paralegal
Cody brings to FinTech Law a wide range of digital marketing experience across different industries and disciplines. Prior to joining FinTech Law, Cody developed digital marketing and creative initiatives in the civil engineering, news media, manufacturing, and legal spaces, among others. Cody also has a passion for law and legal matters and is currently sharpening his skills as a Paralegal for both Bo and Emily. With an extended interest in copyright and intellectual property law, Cody is hoping to extend both his own Paralegal work and the FinTech Law work into these practices. Outside of FinTech, Cody has a deep passion for music and is a professional musician, singer, and songwriter.
